Be careful what chooses you—
mind the tools shaping your shadow
the hissing at the screen door

Not all leftovers can be restored—
some rot stays rotten
from the branch back up to the air

​

Back up & climb the scale
to find the diminishments—
singing amidst the familiar notes
to selves & for stars you leave

​

In the condensation on the mirror
you never quite see yourself in—
a mist inside your reflection
fades into the corners of your practice
